5 Ways to Remove Crayon from your Wall

Having children around is a blessing, but they sure know how to make a mess. Leave them alone for just a few minutes, and you can come back to beautiful works of art all over your walls and baseboard heater covers. It seems like cleaning it up would be an easy task, but you’d be surprised just how hard it is to get crayon out of your walls. Here are 5 quick and easy ways to get the crayon off your wall.

    • Non-Gel toothpaste

Get some non-gel toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a washcloth together to get started. Non-gel toothpaste has natural ingredients such as baking soda in it that can remove stains from your wall without damaging the paint.

All you have to do is rub the toothbrush into the crayon with a toothbrush, and then wipe the toothpaste away with your washcloth. It is super fast and easy, and you probably already have the ingredients in your home to do it.

  1. Mayonnaise
  2. If you don’t have non-gel toothpaste in your house, you probably have mayonnaise. It is another easy way to get crayon off your wall is with some mayonnaise. All you need to do is dab the mayo over the crayon lines on the wall, let sit a few minutes, and then wipe it off with a damp cloth. The works of art will quickly turn back into your beautiful wall.

    1. Shaving cream
    2. Another quick and easy way to get crayon off your walls is to use shaving cream. Some shaving creams are harsher than others, so make sure you test a small area before going to town on a large part of your wall with crayon on it. Just put the shaving cream on the work of art, scrub it slightly with a toothbrush, and wipe it all away with a wet washcloth. This is very similar to the non-gel toothpaste method.

      1. Slice of bread
      2. Another quick and easy hack for removing crayon off your walls is to get a slice of bread, roll it into a ball, and rub the crayon marks off. It takes a bit more work than some of the other methods, but you don’t have to use any chemicals, and it gets the crayon off just as well. It may also be a bit messier with bits of crayon and bread crumbs on the carpet beneath your baseboard heater covers.

        1. White vinegar
        2. Most people would be surprised at how well vinegar works around your house. You can use it to clean almost anything, and you don’t have to worry about it causing any damage to your home. It also works well on cleaning crayon off the wall. Just use a rag dipped in vinegar to wet the entire area, let it sit a few minutes, and wipe it all off. For even better results, you can use a baking soda/water paste combination on the crayon marks before using the vinegar soaked rag on the crayons to wipe it away.
