A six bedroom home doesn’t increase value that much from a five bedroom home though. The same goes for removing rooms. If you want to drop from six to five rooms, it won’t really matter much. However, don’t even drop from 4 to 3 rooms and especially avoid dropping down to 2 or 1 rooms in your home. It will drop your home value significantly.

When updating a home, you are pretty safe making updates to the kitchens and bathrooms. Those rooms make up a lot of the value of your home, and having them updated will only increase the value of your home. And for your own sake, it is nice to have what you want in your bathrooms and kitchen.

Many people won’t even buy a house with old windows, so you will increase the number of people willing to look at your home.

Bedrooms and living rooms

The best thing you can do for these rooms is a fresh paint job and installing baseboard heater covers to make the rooms feel fresh and clean. You will enjoy the change, and your future buyers won’t even notice some of the bad stuff if they feel comfortable with the appearance of the room. Pick neutral colors, and then use pops of color in your decorations to give the room the appearance you like.
